Have you been deployed to Iraq, or any OIF / OEF base, FOB or camp?
If you have, you have probably lived or
worked behind the T-Walls which surround almost everything in theater.
If you haven't, T-Walls
are very large (12-15 feet high, 4 feet wide and 2 feet thick) concrete barriers which protect personnel from direct or indirect
small arms fire, mortars, rockets and shrapnel. T-Walls surround almost every building or tent, line the streets in the IZ
(Green Zone) and every check point.
Our miniature T-Walls are exact replicas of the ones used in
OIF / OEF (except ours measure 7 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 1 inch thick). They are made of gypsum and potable water in
Baghdad on the Victory Base Complex (Baghdad International Airport or BIAP). Each has a 2 inch unit coin indentation to display
your coin or ours.
Currently we have three standard models which come either in white or gray:
- The
first has the phrase "OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM" around the coin indentation and 2008 on the bottom
- The second
has "OIF" in large letters at the top and "Baghdad 2008" at the bottom
- The third has rectangular
indentations approximatlely 3 inches X 1 1/4 inch on top and 2 inches X 1 1/4 at the bottom. Decorative plates (either metal
or plastic) can be printed or engraved with any text, insignia or picture you wish.
